A Rabbit with a Unicorn Horn - Wonky the Unicorn Rabbit

A Rabbit with a Unicorn Horn

Just a while ago, social media went viral on the news about Narwhal the unicorn puppy, rescued from the street in Missouri, United States. Now, another rescued unicorn animal has reached the headlines. Wonky, a rabbit with a unicorn horn, needed a new home in the United Kingdom.

Wonky’s former owner was unable to look after him, and the RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) branch in Milton Keynes & North Bucks took the unicorn bunny in.

Wonky – A Rabbit with a Unicorn Horn

Wonky the unicorn rabbit is a 4-year-old boy with a specialty. Wonky’s left ear sits at the top of his head, occasionally pointing upwards, like a unicorn horn.

According to the staff at the RSPCA, Wonky is an affectionate rabbit and likes being stroked. However, he doesn’t enjoy being picked up. Wonky would be a suitable pet for a family with older children rather than small children.

Wonky has blue eyes and he weighs over 3 kilograms. According to the rescue center, Wonky would also like to find a girlfriend.

An Internet Sensation

RSPCA probably did the right thing by announcing Wonky is a “unicorn rabbit”. Narwhal the unicorn puppy’s case already proved, that if you declare a rescue animal has a unicorn horn, hundreds of adoption applications will be sent in no time.

RSCPA posted an announcement on Facebook about Wonky the rabbit, who looks like a unicorn and is looking for a new home. Wonky ended up in headlines around the world and went viral on social media. Just like Narwhal the unicorn puppy, Wonky the unicorn rabbit received numerous adoption applications.

Wonky the Unicorn Rabbit – New Home for Christmas

Things ended up well for the adorable rabbit with a unicorn horn. Now RSCPA has announced on their Facebook page, that a suitable home has been found for Wonky and he has been reserved.

Wonky the unicorn rabbit was lucky because he has a new home for Christmas.

All rescue animals are not as lucky as Wonky the unicorn rabbit, though. Please send some Christmas love to homeless animals.

The easiest way to do this is to support charity organizations that work for rescue animals, such as RSCPA or Mac’s Mission (the animal rescue center that rescued Narwhal the unicorn puppy).

Please let me know what you think about Wonky the unicorn rabbit. Does his lopsided ear look like a unicorn horn to you?

  1. When I moved into my first apartment, it was on the ground floor with a small grassy area. I was a college student and chose the cheapest and most convenient place. Summertime was hot so I left the glass door open, carelessly closed the screen door and dozed off to nap. My friend had stopped by and saw that my door was open so she knocked and entered. Upon entering she saw me napping on my foldaway sofa. At first she thought I was sleeping with my stuffed toy animals. One of the animals moved, blinked and twitched it’s whiskers and huddled closer to me. I was sleeping deep and didn’t know anything about this until my friend woke me up, she startled the furry visitor. It was a giant white bunny hopping all over my apartment. It probably belonged to a neighbor. My friend laughed about the bunny sneaking in to nap with me and pretending to be one of my toy animals.

Another time I went to the beach with some friends who had brought their brown bunny with them. I lay on my towel and felt sleepy. All of a sudden I feel sand being dumped on my head. I sat up and it was the brown bunny burying my head in the sand. I tried to get up but tripped and fell due to the mischievous bunny tying my feet together with his leash. My friend apologized and said that he likes me that’s his way of showing it.πŸ‡πŸ‡

    1. Aww, that’s so cute! What an incredible incident that your neighbor’s bunny ended up on your sofa. Rabbits are so cute! Have you read the novel Watership down? All the characters in the novel are wild rabbits. πŸ‡

      1. One of my favorite books. Even saw the animated version. My husband read it too. He calls me “Fiver” since I’m tiny next to him. We even say some of the words like “tharn” which means to be so scared that you can’t move, like a deer in the headlights. Some of the food words we still use “flay rah ” and “silflay” meaning fancy food and plain food. I sometimes tell story time about magical talking animals. and wonderous worlds . My husband teases me about animals befriending me causing playful mischief, sort of like a Doctor Doolittle. πŸ‡πŸ‡πŸˆπŸ•πŸ₯πŸ„πŸ‚πŸŽπŸ¦„

  2. Oh, how cute is Wonky! I would never have thought that a rabbit with a unicorn horn can exist. I am sure glad I read your post and found out about it. And even more that suitable home has been found for him. I wish every rescue animal would have the same luck!

Thank you for making me smile on this grey, rainy day πŸ™‚

    1. Hi Katja,

I never thought a rabbit could have a unicorn horn either, until I read about Wonky the unicorn rabbit. I was also very happy when I found out Wonky had found a new home for Christmas. He’s probably enjoying his life in his new home right now. πŸ™‚

  3. Unicorn puppy and a unicorn rabbit, this seems kind of strange though but cool that’s why many adoption applications were sent because they look like a unicorn, and that’s what makes them special.

In the case of the rabbit, don’t know why the owner was unable to look after him, and it was best that the RSPCA took him in. Now he has found a suitable home.

People love and cherish such kind of animals because they have the qualities of a unicorn, they are very rare to come by. And it’s funny though that the unicorn rabbit is looking for a “girlfriend”.

Well, looking at the pictures above, it seems to look like a unicorn but don’t know how possible it is. It’s just amazing. No wonder people want him.

    1. Hi Kell,

It’s amazing, isn’t it? I wonder how come Wonky was born with an ear like that. I guess it’s one of nature’s wonders that some animals are born with an unique feature.

      1. Yeah. I guess we can’t question Nature. It was just meant to be that way.

From a unicorn puppy to a unicorn rabbit. Well, let’s see if Nature will give us a unicorn cat, lol.

        1. A unicorn cat, that would be something! There’s this animated series called “Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitty”.

But I haven’t heard of a real-life unicorn cat. Well, not yet. I bet one will show up at some point. πŸ˜€
