  1. Hi.
I am a unicorn and horse lover! I love the names Showed on your website. I had to make a unicorn story so I came to this website and it was great! I got loads of great names for my unicorns! Thank you so much!

  2. Oh that is so cute! I used to love making up stories with fairies and unicorns and I loved coming up with new names for them all.

I did your Unicorn Name Quiz and my Unicorn name is Cassiopeia, love it 🙂 I also like the name Cloudberry, just something about it.

    1. Thanks, Petra!

That’s awesome you made up stories about fairies and unicorns. It´s so much fun making up names for the fictional characters, isn’t it? Especially if they´re fairies and unicorns. 🙂

Cassiopeia is one of my favorite unicorn names too. 🙂

Cloudberry is a unicorn name I made up myself. Many unicorn names are based on nature, so I thought it would be a great unicorn name.

Cloudberries are very precious berries that only grow in the Arctic areas, such as the northernmost parts of the country here in Finland, and in Arctic areas in Canada. They even look like clouds (well, orange clouds), as the name suggests.

  3. Wow! I did not realize that there were so many awesome names to consider. Great that these names are unisex. They are all very unique and I find it difficult to pick one. I feel inspired already, and I believe the flowers and stars are also another great source of inspiration. Thank you for expounding on the names especially the gemstones. I learnt a few gemstone names that I had no idea of. I’ll gladly pick this criteria. Ruby’ will do it for me’Thank you for putting together such a great list.

  4. It may sound weird but I (we) call my BF (best friend) as turbo unicorn in real life cause he has used turbo unicorn as a nickname in some games and gaming related forums for a decade. Sometimes we call him as Tunicorn.
If I should name unicorn using these names on the list, in my opinion Vanilla and Firefly would be my first picks I guess.
By the way, my name, Jesse would be a great unicorn name, it’s unisex but may be too boring, hard to say.
You should make some sort of unicorn name generator, that would be lots of fun! 🙂 Thanks for sharing -Jesse

  5. Hi Kirsti,

When I first to read your post, I thought it’s introducing all the unicorn startups in the world. Although it’s not, it’s still a good article whoever tries to find the best name for their startup companies, a simple project name, or a team name! I love to get inspirations from fairy tales, myths, and stars. Maybe next time I will directly come to your blog as an easiest way to get a new name.

I think I might choose “Reina” too for my next project name since I think it gives a sense of royalty. I checked on wikipedia and found it’s also a word for the queen in Spanish which is nice and excellent. I love to see more of your posts in the future. Thanks.

    1. Hi Matt,

I never thought of unicorn names (magical creature names) could work as company names too. Thank you, that’s a great idea, actually! Feel free to use any of the unicorn names on the list, if you need inspiration. 🙂

“Raina” is my favorite too, and it indeed means “queen” in Spanish (or it´s written reina in Spanish, but that´s the origin of the name Raina).

  6. Hi! I really love this website. It helped me through a really hard time in my life. Thanks for being such a big help! I’m gonna give myself a unicorn name its not on this list though: Annabelle. That’s my unicorn name if I gave myself one. Thanks!
    – Anonymous unicorn lover.

  7. I love all these type of names, whether they’re for unicorns or not! My cuddly unicorns are named Yasmin, Harmonie, Destiny, Alexa, Rosette, Skylar and Fantasia. Destiny was the only one who I named myself- the others came already named (Beanie Babies, Clip Pals etc.) Was delighted to see a few of my unicorns names on the list- and some other names on your list are the names of different cuddly animals I have!!
